Moniek Schrijer was born in Wellington, New Zealand Aotearoa in 1983. Since completing a Bachelor of Applied Arts and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Jewellery and Printmaking at Whitireia New Zealand, she has been the recipient of numerous awards and residencies. Her most notable accolades include the 2016 Herbert Hofmann Preis and the 2015 Françoise van den Bosch artist in residence in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Moniek Schrijer has exhibited widely in group and solo exhibitions, her work is in the collection of Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and The Dowse Art Museum.
