Ross Malcolm’s jewellery draws on his interest in ecology and sustainability. His works shows a continual experimentation with form and media, most often working in recycled and non-conventional materials, particularly plastic.
Recent works from his “Potted Colour” series “relate to observations made on a morning walk following an overnight storm & variations in leaf size and colours through the wet kauri grove & coloured plastic pots strewn amongst plants at the garden centre.”
Ross Malcolm completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Jewellery at The Manukau Institute of Technology, Auckland, in 2004. Since then he has exhibited in galleries around New Zealand. Ross has won a number of awards including Supreme Contemporary Award, National Jewellery Showcase, in 2007 and Overall Winner of the Molly Morpeth Canaday 3D Awards in 2006.
