“Repetition is not repetition. The same action makes you feel something completely different by the end”. – Pina Bausch
hand, hand, hand explores movement as a contemplative tool for transformation. Through repetitive textile processes of the hand, Paige Jansen seeks to transmit an essence into each object through gesture and form. This exhibition is the final part of a triptych completed over the past two years.
This work has been made with the support of Creative New Zealand.
Paige Jansen is an Ōhinehou, Lyttelton–based artist who, through handwoven textiles and movement, composes work that sets out to unveil the intimate texture of experience. Formed through intuitive, embodied modes of inquiry, Jansen’s work blends a poetic interest of materiality with the intangible aspects of being.
