I have always been intrigued by product packaging and how well thought out presentation enhances attractiveness – I once bought a designer top because of its truly beautiful tag. I have been collecting product tags for a number of years now – little pieces of well designed lures. I enjoy working with plastic – discarded, sometimes reviled – the poor old plastic bag that has a lot of baggage attached to it – perhaps there’s a bit of projective identification going on.
Labouriously cutting up plastic, knitting it, melting it…very satisfying, lots of time to think, lots of time to play…

A scattering of brooches on the wall … crystal formations, golden nuggets, mineral deposits, black fungi, flora and fauna … a repository, solidification, accumulation of manmade materials and the human hand into that which appear earthly matter.

A small pile of pendants on a plinth in the centre of the room. Seeming insignificant; this quiet pile holds 98 people.
